"[GM] believed the value of a person’s life was around $200,000 and that the design would kill about 500 people. The cost to fix the vehicles would be $8.59 per car. GM rationalized that paying off 500 deaths would only cost them around $2.49 per car for every car they had on America’s roads. touba:

The revising of the works of poets like Rumi and Hafez goes hand in hand with the appropriation and revision of Sufism by the “spiritual movement”. Apparently the only way that Islamic mysticism can be palatable to the American population (the only population that matters?) is by…

An old, hard, difficult man speaks with a simple child.

This happens every day, everywhere. The old man insists on correctness. The child insists on a higher truth.

Scholars and gatekeepers are not fit judges of the sacred works they preserve. It does not matter whether I read an unfaithful translation of the Gospels, or a faithful one. The solar light of Christ will shine through.

Scholars can’t see, hear, or sense the astral plane. They don’t know if God is present in a translation. The spiritual ones do know. God does not often choose the most educated as his vessels.

How can a gatekeeper look at Rumi, now among the most widely read poets in the West, and not see a miracle at work! This is a miracle!
